Briana Cragwell

for

Student Body Vice President at UNC Charlotte

My mission for running as student body vice-president is to empower students by encouraging them to get involved so that their voices can be heard. I want to build school spirit, traditions and work closely with students and student organizations so that we can create unity and build bridges between all aspects of the student body. Creating our own identity and establishing UNC Charlotte is also a goal so that we are no longer in the shadows of Chapel Hill, Duke and NC State.

I am currently a junior at UNC-Charlotte, majoring in communications with a concentration in pubic advocacy and a minor in public health. I plan to join the Peace Corps within the next year, and serve in Central or South America. Currently, I am secretary of the Black Student Union, a SAFE Counselor, Student Union Building Manager. I am also a member of the Executive Cabinet of SGA where I serve as Secretary of Diversity Affairs. I was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia but was raised all over the world and spent most of my childhood in Vicenza, Italy to which I call home. Outside of campus my involvements include,  volunteering with Girl Scouts of America where I serve as a brownie troop leader for the Girls Scouts Hornet’s Nest Council.
