Student Body President of UNC Charlotte

THIS IS FOR YOU 49ers!

I’m originally from Texas. I have always enjoyed living in cities because I am able to learn many lessons from different types of people. The biggest reason I decided to continue my education at UNC Charlotte was because the university was housed in the very diverse, beautiful, and progressive city of Charlotte.

Since my freshman year at UNC Charlotte much has changed within the university as well as outside of the university. Infrastructure, new academic majors, research initiatives, and most importantly the involvement of students at Charlotte has increased dramatically. I’ve held and do hold leadership positions on and off campus. The experiences that come with holding leadership positions have prepared me to co-lead, direct, and represent the student body of UNC Charlotte to a land of victory. Not only that but because of the experiences that I have obtained I am able to better serve my community, reach out to my community and help build my community for the better. And that is what I want to do for you 49ers!

The students of UNC Charlotte deserve a firm, fair, and consistent leader on campus who will be able to assess our social and academic needs, as well as create, develop, and enhance policies that assist students of our institution. I believe UNC Charlotte to be “The City Upon A Hill” for all universities in NC. We are fresh. We are crisp. We are staking our claims as students.

We are NINERNATION.

A little more about me...

I started my journey to UNC Charlotte my senior year of high school when I enlisted in the US Army Reserves on January 5th, 2011. I graduated from Southern Guilford High School in Greensboro, NC and ended that chapter of my life by giving a speech to my classmates as their senior class president. A week later I was en route to what is known to many as the “Home of the Infantry” in Fort Benning, Georgia for Basic Combat Training (BCT). I was welcomed on campus by my learning community in Lynch Hall. I was selected to be an Emerging Leader my freshmen year. My sophomore year I pledged to be a brother of the first Latino-based Greek fraternity in history, Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. I ended my sophomore year by attending the LEADERSHAPE institute that is offered to student leaders on campuses across the nation. I started my junior year taking on the role of a Resident Advisor, better known as an RA. I currently serve as a SGA Senator for the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS).
